While we were on our trip, we stopped by the Historic Mabry Mill. From what we’ve read, it’s the most photographed spot on the entire Blue Ridge Parkway. The temperatures were well above freezing, but there was still quite a bit of ice on the aqueduct (which was badly in need of cleaning out).
The visitors center was closed when we went by, so there wasn’t anyone on the grounds to ask if the mill actually still spun, or if the water flow was simply too low to move the wheelhouse. Here are a few of the photos I took while there (you can see the fog rolling in on some of them).
